Weight loss plans

When we begin work on a weight loss plan for our clients, we focus on the four key areas – Mindfulness, healthy eating, movement and recovery. This helps our clients maintain results long-term.

Mindfulness

An important part of any weight loss plan is knowing your own mind and possibly changing your mindset. We teach our clients to understand how they think about weight loss and help develop a ‘laser’ focus on achieving their ‘mini-goals’, so they go on to smash their long term target.

To successfully change your mindset you need to have confidence in the process and a personal belief that you can do it… that’s where we come in.

Changing your mindset will lead to a more positive weight loss plan.

The healthiest you is often the slimmest version of you

When trying to shed the pounds, too many people concentrate on the wrong things which results in a dehydrated and starving body.

When developing a weight loss plan, we explain to our client how they can use food as a ‘tasty tool’ it becomes part of the solution and not the problem. Identifying their bodies best source of nutrition is vital in determining their weight loss path helping them stay healthy and generally perform well in life. Via our consultation process and health check we can find the best way to help you finally make that change and continue to make the best health Choices.

Movement

Sadly, many people believe that in order to lose weight through exercise, you need to undertake intense daily gym sessions or have a personal trainer shout at you five times a week. You’ll be pleased know, this simply isn’t the case.

Firstly, we encourage movement rather than ‘exercise’. Ultimately, we just want our clients to move more than they did previously. As specialists in biomechanics movement, we study their individual skeleton and muscular structure and build exercises around how their body feels. This helps reduce injury, stiffness and pain after exercising, making it easier for them to move day-to-day, rather than be sore day-to-day.

Movement is a key part of any weight loss plan.

A weight loss plan that focuses on movement, not exercise

When clients begin to move more, regular high-intensity workouts are not recommended because this will lead to a lot of time feeling sore and tired. Therefore, we recommend building a schedule that concentrates on regular, manageable, movement that leaves them not only feeling better than when they started, but actually aiding movement the following day.

Scientifically, this is the healthiest way to exercise for weight loss because it reduces the amount of stress hormones and increases our dopamine levels (making you feel great), plus it encourages fat loss through a consistent calorie burn rate.

Recovery

The big mistake people make is not letting their body recover properly. Whilst moving regularly is essential to weight loss, any training program, as part of the process of change, will create damage and stress to the body.

If clients don’t let their body heal, all the work they’re doing is actually slowing the results down. We support them and use coaching tools such as resting heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking allowing us to know when to push and when to not.
