Flexibility is often mistaken as stretches or worse still, having the ability to ‘touch your toes’. In actual fact, true flexibility is demonstrated when your body and brain co-operate together to achieve a movement or a pain free full range position… a huge part of flexibility is how that position feels.
Our flexibility coaching use a combination of physical therapy, movement coaching and personal training to start to improve our clients flexibility. We then gradually build in movement and flexibility challenges that are specific to their movement goals. For example, in the instance of pulling on their socks, we might start with just standing on one foot or re-learning pulling their knee into their chest.
Is flexibility coaching right for you?
When we work with a client we focus on identifying the most important movement patterns in their day-to-day lives. For example, putting on their socks or brushing their hair. We then build a plan we can work through together to improve their flexibility, and therefore ability, to perform these tasks.
Of course, we’re not looking to turn our clients into gymnasts, however we can ensure your movement is the best it can be.
