MLD for Detox

Many people embark on a detox by changing their dietary and drinking habits, introducing regular exercise and renewing a beauty regime. Adding Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for detox or trying it out as a stand-alone therapy will deliver powerful and noticeable results.

MLD detox massage

Described as “One of the best-kept secrets on the health and beauty scene”, MLD’s intensely relaxing effect masks the strength of the treatment itself. It is a very gentle, light-touch massage that improves the ability of the body’s lymphatic system to cleanse from the inside out.

Specific and gentle movements of the skin stimulate and increase the rate of removal of waste products, toxins and excess fluid from the body’s tissues resulting in clearer and cleaner skin, reduced puffiness around the eyes, reduced cellulite and fluid retention and improved skin tone.

Are there any side effects to the treatment?

There are usually no side effects and it is perfectly safe to eat before and after an MLD treatment. It helps to drink some water after your treatment and you may need to go to the toilet more often, as the re-energised lymphatic system starts to detox the body and recycle excess fluid and waste. After an MLD treatment, you should feel more relaxed and clear-headed!

Benefits of a detox MLD massage

Many people presume that to detox their bodies, they need to just focus on their diets. Including massage in a regular routine can help towards achieving a full body detox.

It has been suggested that massage can help to improve mood. A 2004 meta-analysis of 37 studies found reductions in trait anxiety and depression to be among the greatest effects of massage therapy.

Massage has been noted for its ability to stimulate the body’s natural cleansing processes, which can slow down due to such factors as poor diet or insufficient exercise.

Any kind of massage helps to stimulate the body’s circulation, ensuring that blood pumps around the body with greater vigour. The better your circulation, the more energy you can expect to have and the more effectively your organs will function, particularly regarding the elimination of toxins.
